The Getty Villa
Situated 16 miles from our hotel near LAX, The Getty Villa dedicates itself to showcasing and educating visitors in the art and culture of ancient Greece, Rome and Etruria. Antique collections are displayed in themes of Gods and Goddesses, Dionysus and the Theater, and Stories of the Trojan War. Greek, Roman and Etruscan pieces are all expertly positioned in a surrounding Roman-themed architectural style and gardens.

A collection of 7,000 years of ancient art represent the end of the Stone Age to the fall of the grand Roman Empire. Housed in a recreation of an ancient Roman home, guests can revisit times long passed while envisioning life in the first century A.D.

Talks and tours, performances, films and lectures are regularly scheduled for the public to participate. In addition to the exhibits themselves, The Getty Villa’s four gardens are modeled after ancient Roman beds and planted with ancient Mediterranean vegetation.

Similar to The Getty Center, admission to The Getty Villa is free; however, tickets must be booked in advance. Parking costs $15 per car and is free after 5 p.m. for all evening activities. Note: The only access to The Getty Villa is via the north-bound right hand lane of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).
